Viking Night!

Tonight we were visited by Simon and Helen who did four activities with us before bed, all with a Viking theme. We did brass rubbings, illuminated letters, Viking bracelets and learned a Viking board game called Trip Trap Troll.
Great fun and just the kind of chill out evening we needed before bed!

Tea 2

As predicted (strangely) by Mystic Meg aka Miss Black, tea tonight is lasagne and garlic bread, followed by apple crumble and custard. Yum... again.

Fun in the Park!

Tonight before tea we went to a park across from the hotel. We played frisbee, swords (!) and the boys made friends with some older boys and Mr Atkinson, Mr Jewell played a wee game of football in the sun. Great fun! Showers needed for sweaty children and teacher tonight!

Tonight Dave popped into the hotel to show us a slideshow (!) about York. We learned about everything from the Romans to the Victorians. Dave told us how important York is.

Tea!

One of the most important aspects of any school trip is the food and, if tonight is anything to go by, it's going to be great!

A Beautiful Afternoon in York

Well, after a long journey we arrived in York at about 2.00 this afternoon. We spent the afternoon at an archaeological discovery centre called The Dig in the centre of York. We then walked to our hotel to get settled. The weather is absolutely lovely and we hope it will stay like this all week!

Russian Visitors

Today in P6/7 we have some visitors from Moscow. They re visiting to see what we are doing with the iPad. They sat in on a lesson on poetry and GarageBand. It was very nice to see them and get a chance to chat to them about some of the great things we are doing.
