In The News... Again!

Today the school was in the Daily Record as they hailed a 'world first in Scots classroom'. The paper were very excited about the introduction of our new iPads. It's great to see how the national press have got the iPad bug! We look forward to seeing all parents and friends at our iPad information evening next Wednesday. You can read the full article here.

It's been a busy week for news, and we've been making it! After appearing with our iPads in the local paper we have also been feature on local news website 'Inverclyde Now'. A reporter cams and chatted to us and took some great pictures with our iPads. He was very envious and wished he had one too!

Today we are doing observational drawing in art. Rather than use paper and pens we are doing a classic observational drawing lesson drawing our shoes - on our iPad! See what you think of the results!

Ice cream

Mrs Offord took the class for science today. They are studying
states of matter and a good way to do that is to make ice cream! This helps us to think of the science that goes on all around us. Next week science at Nardinis!

Matthew the Horse Rider!

Congratulations to Matthew for winning these rosettes and awards in horse riding events per the summer. Matthew is a keen animal lover and has great ideas on keeping strange and exotic animals. He also won these trophies for horse jumping. I'm sure he will enjoy our horse riding block later in the year!

Day 1: P6/7 2010/11

We had a really exciting day today beginning the class for the new year. We have a very highly motivated group of 17 children in P6/7 this year and are all looking forward to a year full of many exciting projects and learning. Probably most exciting for most children today was the chance to meet their new iPad. It was like Christmas! The iPad has so many useful applications and will be a vital part of much of the work we do in class this year.
A good start to what will hopefully be a great year!

One Short Weekend...

One short weekend to go and then school begins for another exciting year! This year we will again be keeping a blog in P6/7. The blog is a great way for parents, friends and relatives to keep up with all the activities of the class and is also a great way of providing positive feedback to the children. The blogs have been very popular in past years so watch this space for some great reports and pictures of what promises to be a fantastic year! We look forward to your comments,

Mr J :)
