Art - Tone

Today we were looking at the visual elements in Art. Specifically we were producing observational drawing of fruit and vegetables to show tone, the amount of light and dark in a colour.
We looked at famous examples by Monet and Gaughin to see how tone shows in painting.

Then we made our own observational drawings of fruit and vegetables using an app called 'Brushes'. Brushes is a great tool for art. It enables you to paint without fear of making a mistake and develop real confidence in art. I'm sure you will be impressed at some of the results we came up with today. Look for tone - the amount of light and dark in the colours of our fruit and veg. If you can see varying amounts, depending on where the light was in the room, we have achieved our learning goal for the lesson.
What do you think?
